Nice hospitals perform strongly in France’s 2025 rankings

Several hospitals in Nice and the wider Alpes-Maritimes have been highly ranked in Le Point’s 2025 hospital tables, with strong results across both public and private healthcare.

Several hospitals in Nice and the surrounding Alpes-Maritimes have been recognised in France’s 2025 hospital rankings, published this month by Le Point, with strong results across a wide range of medical specialties.

Nice University Hospital (CHU de Nice) placed 20th nationally, climbing one position compared with 2024, and ranked first in the Provence–Alpes–Côte d’Azur region, ahead of Marseille’s Saint-Joseph Hospital.

The national ranking was once again topped by Toulouse University Hospital.Within the private sector, Clinique Saint-Georges in Nice recorded one of the most notable performances, jumping 19 places to reach 18th in the national clinic rankings.

The Pasteur Hospital, the largest in the département, featured prominently in multiple specialties, confirming its status as one of the most comprehensive hospitals in France.

It ranked particularly highly in vascular medicine (4th), spinal surgery (7th), shoulder surgery (8th), Parkinson’s disease treatment (8th) and stroke care (13th), alongside strong results in cardiology, neurology and orthopaedics.

Other Nice institutions also stood out.

The University Institute for the Face and Neck ranked 4th nationally for ENT cancers, while the Antoine-Lacassagne Cancer Centre achieved top-ten positions for lung, prostate and skin cancers.

Sainte-Marie Hospital was recognised for mental health care, notably in the treatment of depression and schizophrenia, and L’Archet Hospital received high rankings in obesity surgery and diabetes care.

Elsewhere in the département, Cannes Hospital was praised for glaucoma surgery, while specialist centres in Saint-Laurent-du-Var and Grasse also featured in the national tables.

The annual rankings are closely followed by patients and healthcare professionals, offering an overview of hospital performance across France.
