Orange heatwave warning continues across the Côte d'Azur as wildfire risk remains high
The Alpes-Maritimes and Var remain under an orange heatwave alert on Monday, with temperatures approaching 37°C, strong winds, thunderstorms in the Alpes-Maritimes hinterland and a very high wildfire risk across the region.

In the Alpes-Maritimes, another hot day is expected, with temperatures reaching around 30°C on the coast.
Météo-France has also issued a yellow thunderstorm warning for parts of the Haut Pays between 12pm and 8pm, covering areas including Saint-Étienne-de-Tinée and Tende.
The Var is also facing another difficult day as firefighters continue monitoring the Gros Bessillon wildfire, which remains contained but not yet fully under control following last week's flare-up.
Temperatures are expected to reach 32°C to 35°C along the coast, rising to 37°C inland.
Adding to the concern are wind gusts of up to 45 km/h, which could increase the risk of flare-ups in the wildfire zone.
Because of the very high fire danger, access to several forest areas in the Var has been banned for the day, including the Sainte-Baume, Haut-Var, Maures, Estérel and the Hyères Islands.
