Palace officials said the planned intervention was part of routine dermatological monitoring and was straightforward, requiring only a few stitches.

The condition was described as non-serious and benign. They stressed that the procedure has not affected the Prince Sovereign’s schedule.

Prince Albert continued with his official duties and attended a scheduled audience at the Vatican with Pope Leo XIV on Saturday.

The Palace added that no further medical details would be released, in keeping with standard practice, following media attention to a visible scar during the papal visit.
