Reports in France say recurring problems with the midfielder’s right knee have raised doubts inside the club about whether the 2018 World Cup winner can return to top-level football.

The 33-year-old reportedly continues to suffer swelling in the knee, which has also contributed to muscle injuries and missed matches.

Pogba still has one year remaining on his contract, but Monaco are preparing for major changes after finishing seventh in Ligue 1.

Questions also remain over what role the former Manchester United and Juventus midfielder could play next season.
