Paulino and Kebinatshipi set 400m meeting records at Monaco Diamond League

Olympic champion Marileidy Paulino and Botswana's Collen Kebinatshipi both produced record-breaking performances in the 400 metres at the Herculis EBS Diamond League meeting in Monaco on Friday.

Paulino stormed to victory in the women's race in a meeting record of 48.67 seconds, adding to the Diamond League record she set in Paris earlier this season.
The Dominican finished ahead of American Aaliyah Butler, who clocked 48.84, while Czech runner Lurdes Gloria Manuel was third in 49.44.
In the men's event, Kebinatshipi won in 43.44 seconds, setting both a new Herculis meeting record and a Diamond League record.
The Botswana sprinter also recorded his fastest time of the season.
Americans Jacory Patterson (43.96) and Rai Benjamin (44.13) completed the podium behind Kebinatshipi in a high-quality race that capped an evening of outstanding performances in Monaco.
