Popularity decline ahead of local elections - The popularity of French President Emmanuel Macron and Prime Minister Edouard Philippe is down three weeks ahead of the local elections.

According to figures published today one out of three (33%) French people consider that the head of state is "a good president" meanwhile the popularity of Prime Minister Edouard Philippe also experienced a slight decline with 35% of favorable opinions.

Ahead of the local elections in Paris the republican candidate Rachida Dati is up 5 points at 22%, +5 along with that of Le Republique en Marche Agnès Buzyn up 7 points at 22% while the current mayor Anne Hidalgo, is at 21% of favorable opinions.

However, the survey also showed that for nearly six out of ten French respondents, the choice of Agnès Buzyn as head of the list to replace Benjamin Griveaux following a sexting scandal was "a bad thing".
