PSG win fourth straight Champions trophy

Paris St Germain claimed their fourth consecutive Champions Trophy after a stoppage-time equaliser forced penalties against Marseille in Kuwait.

Paris St Germain have lifted the Champions Trophy for the fourth year in a row after a dramatic late equaliser against Marseille kept them in the match.

The showdown, played in Kuwait, looked set to go Marseille’s way until Gonçalo struck in the 95th minute to level the score at 2–2 and force a penalty shoot-out.

PSG went on to hold their nerve from the spot to secure the trophy, extending their dominance in the competition.

The result was a bitter blow for Marseille, who had been moments away from victory.

Speaking after the match, Marseille coach Roberto De Zerbi revealed he was deeply affected by the outcome, admitting he cried after the final whistle and insisting his side deserved to win on the night.
