Now in its second edition, the event will officially launch the week of the Monaco Grand Prix with an afternoon combining sport, entertainment and solidarity.

Ronaldinho takes on the racing world

This year’s headline attraction will be the appearance of Brazilian football legend Ronaldinho, who will join the Barbagiuans Monaco team led by Louis Ducruet.

The 2002 World Cup winner and 2005 Ballon d’Or recipient will face the Drivers’ Team, made up of stars from Formula 1, Formula 2, Formula 3 and the wider motorsport world.

Several racing names are expected on the pitch, including Carlos Sainz and Pierre Gasly, while motorsport legend Jacky Ickx will serve as ambassador for the match.

A match with a purpose

Held in the presence of Prince Albert II and Princess Stéphanie, the Racing Stars Football Cup is about more than football.

Each year, the event supports new charitable causes.

For 2026, funds raised will go to Mercy Ships, which provides free surgical care through hospital ships in Africa, and Les Soins de l’Espoir, which helps fund medical treatment and surgery for disadvantaged children and adults in Southeast Asia.

How to watch

The match will kick off at 3:30pm at Stade Louis-II, with pre-match coverage beginning at 3:15pm.

Fans who cannot attend in person will be able to watch live on TVMonaco and on the broadcaster’s official YouTube channel.

With Ronaldinho’s flair meeting the competitive spirit of Formula 1 drivers, the second Racing Stars Football Cup promises to be a lively and meaningful curtain-raiser to Monaco’s Grand Prix week.
