The 28-year-old artist performed in freezing temperatures, dancing and singing in a velvet gown alongside a painted fake zebra crossing added specifically for the production.
Locals were reportedly stunned by the unexpected spectacle, with some watching from windows while a delivery worker was “stopped in his tracks” by the surprise filming.
Residents had only been told the street was closed for filming, with no hint of who the star might be.
The project follows a major milestone in Raye’s career: her single Where Is My Husband recently hit number one on the UK singles chart, marking her first chart-topper of 2026 and her second overall after 2023’s Escapism.
The track, which steadily climbed the charts over 15 weeks thanks to viral social media traction and strong streaming numbers, will also feature on her forthcoming 2026 studio album.
Born Rachel Agatha Keen, Raye previously faced delays and creative blocks during her time with Polydor but regained control of her music after going independent and partnering with Human Re Sources—a move credited with revitalizing her career.
From her debut album 21st Century Blues to Brit Awards success, Raye’s return to the top of the charts cements her status as one of the most compelling British pop comebacks of the decade.
