Residents object to paying for on street parking - Residents in the north of Nice district have expressed their anger at charges for street parking being introduced from today Tuesday 1st October. For the first time parking metres have been installed in certain parts of Nice Nord leading to an online petition which has gathered over 1,000 signatures. It was the association "Saint-Maurice Neighbourhood Committee" which allowed the decision to be approved on behalf of residents only residents say that the neighbourhood committee was pro-parking charges and does reflect the wishes of residents, adding that they were not even consulted on the matter.
