The celebration featured red, blue and black decorations, a balloon arch, superhero-inspired displays and a large Spider-Man photo backdrop.
Guests were also treated to a themed cake bar, offering a choice of flavours including vanilla, strawberry, cookies and cream, and red velvet, with a selection of toppings and sauces.
Videos shared on social media showed the couple singing Happy Birthday to Riot as he celebrated with loved ones.
Rihanna wore a light pink dress, while A$AP Rocky kept things casual in a white T-shirt, baseball cap and sunglasses.
Riot, who turned three on 1 August, is the couple's second child.
Rihanna and A$AP Rocky also share RZA, aged four, and their youngest child, Rocki, who is ten months old.
The pair have become known for organising memorable birthday celebrations for their children.
Earlier this year, they celebrated RZA's birthday with a slime-themed party at New York's Sloomoo Institute, while previous birthdays have included immersive play experiences.
Rihanna has previously spoken about how much she enjoys motherhood, while A$AP Rocky has described her as an incredible partner and mother.
In a recent interview, Rihanna also shared that each of their children has a very different personality, describing Riot as energetic, funny and always ready to sing.
