Russian President blames Westerners
Russian President blames Westerners - In a speech given by Russian President Vladimir Putin this morning Tuesday 21st February, he has blamed Westerners saying that they are "responsible" for the escalation of the conflict with Ukraine. The Russian president accused the West of using the conflict in Ukraine to “finish off” Russia, in an annual address to the nation, organized three days before the first anniversary of the Russian offensive.
He added that he remained determined, a year after the start of his offensive in Ukraine. Referring to the international sanctions that are hitting Russia, Vladimir Putin considered that the West "has not achieved anything and will not achieve anything", while the Russian economy has resisted better than anticipated by the experts.
Putin’s speech came the day after the Ukrainian President had expressed to Italian media that French President Emmanuel Macron’s proposing a “negotiation” with Vladimir Putin was “useless” as well as a surprise visit from American President Joe Biden to kyiv in which he promised new weaponry and "unwavering" support for his Ukrainian ally.
