The club, co-owned by Reynolds and fellow actor Rob Mac, needed a win to keep their promotion hopes alive but were held to a 2-2 draw against Middlesbrough.

The result, combined with other fixtures, left Wrexham in seventh place, just outside the play-off spots.

Reynolds, who has been closely involved since the Hollywood pair bought the Welsh club in 2021, praised the team’s progress, saying they had achieved the best league finish in the club’s long history.

Despite the disappointment, he highlighted how far the club has come in recent years, rising rapidly through the English football system from the lower tiers to the Championship.

Manager Phil Parkinson said the team would return stronger next season, while co-owner Rob Mac also expressed pride in what the squad had achieved.

The club’s rise and off-pitch story continue to be documented in the series Welcome to Wrexham, which follows the team and community closely.
