Scientist calls for more awareness on the risk of a tsunami in the region - According to a scientist from the Géoazur laboratory, the risk of a tsunami on the Côte d’azur remains and awareness needs to raised. On October 16th, 1979, a tsunami caused by a landslide on a construction site south of Nice airport swept over the Côte d'Azur. Eleven people lost their lives between Nice and Antibes. 40 years later, Laurie Boschetti of the Geoazur laboratory warns that the risk is still present on the Riviera coastline and that more awareness is needed.
