The French skater delivered a strong performance to remain firmly in medal contention at the halfway mark of the competition.

Out in front is Ilia Malinin of the United States, who tops the standings heading into the decisive free skating programme.

Malinin’s score puts him in control as the event moves into its second phase.

Spain’s Tomas Llorenc Guarino Sabate, meanwhile, narrowly missed out on qualification for Friday’s free skate, falling just short of the cut required to continue in the competition.

With the free skating still to come, the medal positions remain open — and Siao Him Fa will be aiming to climb higher on the podium in the final round.
