Chanel and Dior both showcased debut couture collections from their new creative directors, with Chanel’s Matthieu Blazy transforming the Grand Palais into a dreamlike landscape of pink willows and oversized toadstools, while Jonathan Anderson’s first Dior couture show leaned into florals, airy silhouettes and sculptural accessories.

Valentino delivered theatrical flair under Alessandro Michele, days after the death of founder Valentino Garavani, while Armani Privé presented its first couture show since Giorgio Armani’s death, favouring soft pastels and elegant tailoring overseen by his niece, Silvana Armani.

Front rows were packed with stars including Dua Lipa, Nicole Kidman, Rihanna, Jennifer Lawrence, Victoria and David Beckham, and Anna Wintour, underlining the event’s status as the most exclusive and glamorous moment in the fashion calendar.
