Stella McCartney and Alasdhair Willis have won approval for a clifftop home in Scotland despite objections, with councillors imposing environmental conditions on the project.

Fashion designer Stella McCartney and her husband Alasdhair Willis have secured planning permission for a clifftop home in the Scottish Highlands.

The property, overlooking Loch Ailort near Fort William, faced more than 65 objections over its potential impact on the landscape and wildlife.

Local councillors approved the plans with conditions, including environmental safeguards and limits on lighting. The couple say the energy-efficient house, designed with natural materials, will serve as a permanent family residence.
