According to Météo-France, a deep depression approaching from the west is set to bring widespread gusts across the country.

While meteorologists say it is still too early to officially classify the system as a storm, wind speeds are expected to be significant.

In the Alpes-Maritimes, gusts could exceed 100 km/h, with peak winds forecast on Thursday 12 February.

Météo-France predicts gusts of up to 110 km/h in Saint-Étienne-de-Tinée, 105 km/h near Grasse, and around 80 km/h in Antibes.

In Nice, winds are expected to remain lower, with gusts reaching around 65 km/h.

A first episode of strong winds is forecast for Wednesday, particularly in the western part of the department, where gusts of up to 85 km/h are expected around Grasse.

The Alpes-Maritimes are currently under a yellow avalanche warning for Tuesday and Wednesday, and a high-wind alert may be issued later this week.

Despite the windy conditions, the weather is expected to remain sunny, with temperatures reaching 15–17°C along the Côte d’Azur.
