Storm Emilia is bringing rain, strong winds and rough seas to Nice and the Alpes-Maritimes today, with a yellow weather alert in place for coastal flooding and high waves.
Rain is set to return to Nice today, Tuesday 16 December 2025, as Storm Emilia moves across the Alpes-Maritimes, bringing unsettled conditions and strong winds.

After several days of sunshine, light but persistent rain is forecast throughout the day in Nice.
Gusts of up to 60–65 km/h are expected in the city, while winds could reach 80 km/h in parts of the department, particularly in the south and around Tende.
Météo-France has placed the Alpes-Maritimes on a yellow alert for coastal flooding and large waves between midnight and 6am.
From Menton to Antibes, strong winds are expected to generate heavy seas, with a risk of overtopping and shingle being thrown onto the seafront.
The area between Villeneuve-Loubet and Antibes is considered the most exposed, and residents are urged to take extra care.
The spell of bad weather is expected to be brief, with sunshine returning for several days and mild December temperatures of between 10°C and 15°C.
However, forecasters say rain could return towards the end of the weekend and persist into the Christmas period.
