Coastal areas like Charente-Maritime, Gironde, Landes, and Corsica face strong winds, while inland regions can expect heavy rain and flooding.

Gusts could reach 150 km/h near the Mediterranean, with some areas seeing up to a month’s worth of rain before the weekend.

Authorities are warning of power outages, fallen trees, and travel disruption, and urging residents to stay indoors where possible.

Nils is expected to move through south-west France by Thursday morning and clear the Mediterranean by Friday.
