Study shows that more than half of parents post photos or videos of their children on social media - A recent study has shown that more than half of parents post photos or videos of their children on social media. 53% use social networks and some even take advantage of it. The study published today shows that amongst parents who post photos or videos of their children, 91% did so before their offspring was five years old, and among them, 43% even started posting such content from birth. This study also explains that 39% of parents who publish photos or videos of their children do so less than once a month, with 3% sharing this kind of content at least once a week.

75% of children of influencers are exposed on social networks before they are 5 years old, including 21% from their first days. Only 17% are between 10 and 16 years old when first exposed. 44% of parents claim to have obtained the consent of their child before publishing content. This study by the Observatory of Parenthood and Digital Education was carried out by the company Potloc, via a questionnaire on social networks from November 9 to 21, 2022. 1,273 people responded to this questionnaire, including 1 000 French parents of children under 16 and 273 French parents who are influencers of children under 16.
