Thunderstorm warnings across the Côte d’Azur as temperatures remain high

Thunderstorms, rain and strong winds are forecast across parts of the Côte d’Azur this Friday, with yellow weather warnings in place for both the Alpes-Maritimes and the Var.

Météo-France has issued yellow thunderstorm warnings until 8pm, although conditions are expected to gradually improve later in the day.
In the Alpes-Maritimes, temperatures will remain high despite unsettled conditions, reaching around 30°C along the coast during the morning and up to 32°C in the afternoon.
Skies will be very cloudy near the coast, where conditions could remain largely dry.
Thunderstorms are more likely inland and across other parts of the department.
Strong winds are also expected around Nice and Menton, with gusts reaching up to 60 km/h.
Much of the Var will see rain and showers during the morning.
Conditions across the department should become calmer during the afternoon.
Temperatures will generally reach between 27°C and 29°C during the afternoon.
