The Flots Bleus and Beach Club beaches, near the town’s port, were closed on Wednesday morning, August 12, after the latest water-quality results were deemed unsatisfactory.
The regional health agency, ARS, ordered the swimming ban as a precaution.
Tests carried out on August 10 detected intestinal enterococci and Escherichia coli (E. coli), bacteria found in faecal matter.
Earlier tests on August 5 had produced satisfactory results.
Swimming will remain prohibited until further samples are taken and new analyses confirm that the water is safe.
Two other beaches in Saint-Laurent-du-Var, Landsberg and Cousteau, remain closed under an ARS order and are not expected to reopen this summer.
The latest closures come after a beach in neighbouring Cagnes-sur-Mer was also closed twice within five days in recent days over similar contamination concerns.
