The service, developed in partnership with Click&Boat, will allow users to hire boats directly through the Uber app in several coastal destinations, including Nice, Cannes, Saint-Tropez and Toulon.
Unlike traditional Uber rides, the new offering does not include a driver.
Instead, users select a vessel from a fleet of around 50,000 boats, complete the booking via the app, and take control themselves.
France is among five European countries included in the rollout, alongside Spain, Italy, Portugal and Croatia.
Additional French locations will include Marseille, Annecy and Paris.
The announcement was made at Uber’s GO-GET 2026 event in New York, where the company outlined its broader ambition to become a one-stop travel platform.
Alongside Uber Boat, new partnerships with Expedia Group and Accor aim to integrate accommodation bookings and loyalty rewards into the app.
Uber One subscribers will also receive a 10% credit on boat bookings, reinforcing the company’s push to link transport, travel and leisure services within a single ecosystem.
