The approval allows the firms to continue sending equipment needed for chip production at their Chinese facilities.

The decision provides temporary relief for the two companies, which had faced uncertainty following a US move earlier this year to revoke license waivers that had previously allowed some technology firms to operate with fewer restrictions.

The approval comes amid ongoing US controls on technology exports to China, with licensing decisions continuing to be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
