The warning runs from 12 p.m. to midnight, with persistent rainfall expected across the department throughout the day.
Temperatures will stay cool, ranging from 4°C to 13°C in the morning and not rising above 14°C later on.
Strong winds are also forecast, with gusts between 45 and 70 km/h and peaks of up to 80 km/h in the eastern part of the Var.
Authorities advise residents to remain cautious due to the risk of localised flooding and reduced visibility during heavier showers.
The alert comes as rail works continue in the region.
Night trains between Nice and Ventimiglia will remain suspended from Sunday to Thursday, between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., until the end of 2026, the SNCF has confirmed.
The maintenance project forms part of long-term improvement works on the coastal line.
