Var placed on yellow thunderstorm alert overnight
Météo-France has issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms in the Var, with rain expected overnight and throughout Wednesday.
The Var department has been placed on a yellow weather alert for thunderstorms overnight and through Wednesday, Météo-France has said.

The warning is due to come into force around midnight on Tuesday night and will remain in place until 6pm on Wednesday 4 February.
Forecasters warn rain is expected to fall throughout the day across the entire department.
The alert follows an already very wet start to the year.
January 2026 was the rainiest January in Toulon since 2014, according to Météo-France, with 126mm of rainfall recorded compared with a seasonal average of 81mm.
The heaviest rain fell during the second half of the month, with particularly intense downpours reported at the very end of January.
