Cloudy start clearing as the day goes on. Highs of 17 degrees in Monaco and Nice. 18 degrees in Saint-Tropez.  This evening going down to 10 degrees along the coast with clear skies.

The outlook for the weekend. A mainly fine start tomorrow becoming increasingly cloudy by Saturday afternoon and light rain is forecast for Sunday. Highs of 17-18 degrees.

Meanwhile, Storm Olivier, currently affecting the Canary Islands and Morocco with heavy rain and strong winds, could impact France this weekend. While the storm won’t hit the country directly, it may cause instability here on the Côte d’Azur, including rain and gusty winds starting Saturday evening. Expect cooler, rainy weather in Nice and along the coast through early next week.

Photo - The Cap Lardier forms the southwestern part of the Saint Tropez peninsula and is mostly natural, with a large nature reserve extending from L'Escalet to Gigaro. Accessible only on foot, the area offers peace even during high season.  In July 2017, a forest fire ravaged much of the nature reserve, burning over 500 hectares and leaving visible damage, especially between L'Escalet and Cap Taillat. However, the coastline and the area around Cap Lardier were largely spared.
