A French woman who was duped out of €830,000 by scammers posing as Brad Pitt has filed a complaint against two banks.

She is accusing them of failing to question a series of suspicious transfers.

Anne Deneuchatel, from the Var region, says the banks approved 18 payments with unusual references linked to a supposed kidney operation for the Hollywood actor.

The fraud, revealed on French television last year, involved fake selfies, forged documents and AI-generated messages.

An investigation is under way.
