Drop in the number of road deaths in France - The number of road deaths in France has fallen by 7.5%. Two hundred and forty-eight people were killed in May this year, 20 fewer than in May last year. The figure reverses the upward trend recorded since January. In the first five months of 2019, the authorities recorded nine fewer deaths (1,225, -0.7%) than in the same period last year, which ended with a "historic" low in France.
